A Different Approach to Illness
We are all familiar with the word illness but not very familiar with the word wellness. Let's take a better look at the word illness with an understanding that we do not want to allow it to become a part of our bodies. Being familiar with the meaning of illness is fine but accepting it as a permanent part of our lives is not fine. There are all types, meanings, styles, forms and degrees of illness. Types, forms and degree of illness are chronic or acute. This means length of time that the illness has been a part of us. If it is chronic then we have accepted illness as an integrated part of our existence. If it is acute it came upon us by surprise and hangs around until it is treated and forgotten.
Acute, Chronic and Spiritual
Acute examples of illness are the flu or the common cold. These are temporarily acquired.Chronic examples of illness are dispositions that stay with us until we decide to let go, if we ever do. Chronic can mean, accepted. There is a spiritual side of illness and wellness and healing. It lies within our entire existence, mental, physical and spiritual that either keeps us well or sick. When recognizing illness we must first realize and rationalize within our own spirit what it is about the illness that we might allow it to overcome us? Is it fear of the illness or is it what someone else may impart upon our minds? Is it the doctor that diagnosed us or can it be hereditary and therefore must be a part of our existence? What keeps you involved with the illness or uninvolved allowing your spirit to let go?
Illness Need Not Be A Part of Our Lives
You can rebuke illness by simply not accepting it. Let it go and realize what has to be done to throw it off or not allow it in the first place. It is easy to fight off the flu. It is not so easy to fight off cancer. But both situations are not meant to be a part of a clean body. Clean is a word that can be overstated and again misunderstood. By clean I mean to say the body, mind and spirit must be in sync and in agreement with each other. Is illness a state of mind that we allow in at the precise moment we let our guard down? Do we allow it or not?
Wellness means many things. Not only are we supposed to concentrate on keeping the body well but we must consider the mental and the spiritual self. This is also a part of the whole body and keeping it all well means synchronizing all parts of the whole. When we have achieved homeostasis we find total wellness. What does total wellness mean to us? It means serving the body, mind and spirit with the best possible means to and end of illness. It means that the total symptom picture is free from illness. When that comes into being we can then focus on preventative medicine to stabilize the body enabling us to live disease free for the most part.
We all realize that we are going to catch a cold, live through the flu and try our best to deal with other acute illnesses. What happens when we must face the obstinate chronic symptom picture? What are your methods for healing when you are told that you have fibromyalgia, shingles, warts, tumors or irritable bowel syndrome? Do you question the doctor, research the disease, take drugs for the rest of your life or settle for the fact that you will always have the disease and accept being told that there is no real cure? Take some time to think about these things as they are all important points to remember when you are choosing a pathway to healing. Remember that there are alternative ways to healing any disease or illness no matter if they are acute or chronic, terminal or even if you are in constant chronic pain. Natural medicine is the best way to CURE illness and reorganize the body so it can come to its own rescue and heal itself. That is right, ?heal itself.' The human body was given all things to heal anything that comes into your body to disturb its finite mechanisms.
Let us also realize that we should consider combining natural and allopathic medicine to provide the healing. We must remember that medicine comes in all forms even if they are scripts that you may not want to take. Natural medicine like Homeopathy does do the trick in curing. Drugs may make you more toxic but still offers some method of healing. Maybe it cannot always cure a problem but it is never the less usable in times of illness when our sickness calls for vaccines or fast healing. Infact, a drug can save your life when it comes to the body for rescue in emergencies. We don't have to always understand how the medicine works or what it is made of. All we have to know is that it will work.I can think of many medicines that I have been told will work for a symptom only to find that it failed me in my time of need. I am sure you have found this to be true of your own body.
Realize that practitioners and doctors make mistakes and that no one is infallible. We do our best to work with what we have and what we believe in as our best method of healing. The patient should ask questions. Direct them to your doctor, pharmacist or practitioner before taking a drug or remedy. Please do not try to learn the entire medical pharmacopoeia in one day. Just take what is necessary and be aware of how to administer your medicine and how long you should remain on the drug. Learn also of its contraindications and it's toxic and negative after effects. Then ask your natural practitioner how to rid the body of any toxins due to drug intake. When you are ill be sure to think of and accept the use and help of a natural practitioner to help you cure. Medicine comes in all forms and from all combinations of natural and man made materials. When you begin treatment to the body you must also treat the mental and the spiritual to balance the healing. Everything is affected when you are sick. The mind and the spirit looses its strength during illness. It sometimes cannot cope and it becomes weary. Sometimes it also looses hope. The mind does what you tell it to do. The spirit follows suit. Sometimes faith healing is a good thing and is accepted in times of trouble to the body, mind and spirit.
You have learned that there are different methods of healing, different forms of medicines and different parts of the human anatomy. Physical and spiritual make up the whole person in need of healing. So, there is the TOTALILTY of the SELF and it's BALANCE that must be a factor in healing. There are methods that take healing to the end of its treatment and then allows for the body and spirit to do the rest of the work. You must have faith that you will be well. You must not wallow in your misery. You must be positive and feel good about applying your own mental healing to the body and lastly you must do all you can to apply preventative measures to keep the body in a state of homeostasis.
Be happy, stay busy, remain positive are all part of your prescription to better health. Love yourself and treat your body as the only body you will have. Put into the body only what is live, nutritious and healing. Learn what this is by reading, researching and asking questions to those in authority over health issues. Above all, get to know your own instincts and use them in a time of crisis.
